
Eternal Brothers Club, a growing social and humanitarian organization, has officially presented its ?105 million 2026 budget to its Board of Trustees (BOT) during a formal ceremony held in Abakaliki, Ebonyi State.The presentation was led by the National President, Hon. Charles Akpu-Enika, who headed the club’s executive council to submit the budget to the Chairman of the BOT and Ebonyi State Commissioner for Youth Development and Sports, Rt. Hon. Richard Idike.
According to Akpu-Enika, the 2026 budget, described as a “Budget of Consolidation,” represents a significant increase from the ?40.5 million budget approved for 2025, reflecting the club’s expanding vision and growing activities.He explained that the projected income for 2026 will be generated from 11 key revenue streams, including the sales of the club’s 2026 calendar, intake of 26 new members at ?800,000 each, constitution launch contributions from new members, monthly dues, development levies, investment returns, and other internally generated revenues such as fines and debt recovery.
The proposed ?104.6 million expenditure will cover 13 major areas, including the club’s annual April Road Walk, capital projects, general meetings, overhead expenses, and the settlement of some carry-over obligations from 2025.Reflecting on the previous year, Akpu-Enika noted that the club surpassed its projected revenue in 2025, enabling the executive to fund additional developmental projects beyond what was initially captured in the budget.He highlighted that the administration successfully reconstructed about 90 percent of an existing project and erected two new buildings at the club’s headquarters, which are currently awaiting roofinLooking ahead, the club plans to commence operations of a six-room gatehouse by May 2026, while the main building comprising four rooms, a hall, and a lounge is expected to be completed before the end of the year.
The club anticipates that these investments will begin generating returns from June 2026.In the medium term, the president stated that the club hopes to reduce dues and levies payable by members starting from 2027, as its investment initiatives begin to yield sustainable income.Responding, the Chairman of the BOT, Rt. Hon. Richard Idike, commended the executive for the presentation and assured them that the board would critically review the proposal.
He described the budget as well-articulated and forward-looking, noting that the real success of any budget lies not only in its presentation but also in its effective implementation.
Idike also praised the ongoing infrastructure projects at the club’s headquarters, describing them as remarkable milestones that demonstrate vision, faith, and commitment to progress.He reaffirmed the Board of Trustees’ continued support and collaboration with the executive to ensure the successful realization of the club’s goals.
